Who we are
Save the Children works in more than 120 countries. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfill their potential.
Our vision
Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
Our mission
Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
The people that work here at Save the Children are driven by a belief that something must be done to challenge injustice. That determination presents itself in many forms, motivating everyone whatever their role.
We work with children, communities and governments all over the world and we believe in the right person for the job regardless of where you come from and how you identify yourself. We need to keep children safe so our selection process and our expectation of staff behaviour reflects our commitment to the protection of children from abuse and exploitation.
We're ambitious about achieving dramatic change for children, and we're determined to deliver it. Find out more on how together we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.
Advocacy and Policy
Our Advocacy Division enables us to take our influencing work up a level in terms of impact on policy and political change for children. By integrating lobbying, policy and research and campaigning in one department, we will be more coherent, focused and agile in our ability to respond to and shape external agendas at the global, UK and country levels.
Fundraising
Fundraising’s mission as a Division is to inspire the nation, from individuals to large corporates, in order to raise as much money and support as possible to create change for children. As part of Ambition 2015, Save the Children aims to become a cause of millions, raising £500 million and recruiting and retaining 1 million supporters
Global Programmes
The Global Programmes Division is responsible for delivering immediate and lasting change for children. This is achieved through the highest possible quality humanitarian and development programmes for children with innovation and impact that can be taken to scale around the world. As part of achieving this change for children, Global Programmes also leads our efforts to establish partnerships with and raise money for this work from institutional donors (including governments, multi-laterals and trusts).
Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications Division is responsible for leading on our No Child Born to Die campaign cross organisational planning and in ensuring the creative content for all communications is high quality and reinforces our brand.
Support Services
The Support Services Division works with the organisation to provide leadership and direction in financial and legal matters, people, IT and audit. Underlying this is the provision of excellent, cost effective service and responsive, practical support to the organisation and making best use of our resources in driving to be a 21st Century organisation.
Chief Executive's Office
Justin Forsyth is our Chief Executive, with Anabel Hoult as Chief Operating Officer. The main priority of the Chief Executive's Office is to drive the delivery of our long term strategy Ambition 2015, ensuring we reach our organisation-wide targets and achieve our ambitious objectives for children.
