The Cialfo Design team is responsible for the design of all Cialfo products across web and mobile screens. We believe design is as much about behaviour and emotion as it is about utility and ease. Our mission is to push the Cialfo experience beyond what's expected by contributing to product direction and crafting beautiful, pixel-perfect experiences. Situated within the engineering team, we move quickly but also have enough time and space to create broad and creative ideas. We love the simplicity and a sense of whimsy.
About This Role:
We're looking for a senior UX/UI designer to help design the Cialfo platform. In this role, you'll wear two hats as both a designer with a sense for the direction of the product.
You'll tackle a number of initiatives within the product are, such as making Cialfo more powerful and intuitive for counsellors, teachers, and students. The ideal designer for our team is someone who thinks creatively about what users need and can turn those needs into elegant systems, components, and guidelines. You'll serve a vital role at the company, from creating the vision for new features to the craft and finish of every detail in the product.
This role reports directly to the co-founder and Chief Product Officer and is based out of Singapore (our headquarters). Visa sponsorship is available if necessary.
What You'll Be Doing
· Working on product projects such as:
· Building new ways for users to initiate workflows.
· Creating better ways to view and share files.
· Working together with engineers at every stage of a new release, from concept to code.
· Design flows, prototypes, sketches, and high-fidelity visuals.
· Work closely with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation and user experience.
· Maintain an up-to-date repository of design guidelines and systems.
· Writing quality front-end code with extensive test coverage.
What You Should Have
· 3+ years of meaningful design experience in an individual contributor role, on a product design team for the web, desktop, or mobile
· A portfolio of work that includes content-rich web apps including mobile; B2B is preferred.
· A proven foundation in typography, interaction and visual design.
· Knowledge of HTML, CSS
· Experience leading and collaborating with diverse teams.
· Experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions.
· A flair for colour and whimsy.
Great to Haves
· Academic experience in the arts (BA, BFA, MFA).
· Front-end development and Product management Experience
· Education experience working in a high school or university: you bring the classroom perspective.
· Experience with remote teams. We live, talk, and type all over the world.
· An in-depth understanding of the educational technology landscape.
Responsibilities
· creating website designs, marketing collaterals and branding designs.
· producing sample sites.
· meeting with clients to discuss requirements and/or project progress.
· demonstrating and receiving feedback about draft sites.
· keeping up to date with recent technological and software developments.
· creating the creative design that is user-friendly, effective and appealing
· digital retouching and image editing.
· working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
· There can be some pressure to meet deadlines and so extra hours may be required.
Requirements
· Proven work experience as a web designer.
· Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
· Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
· Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
· Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript can be added advantage.
· Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
· Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
· Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies.
