Core Responsibilities:

• Manage public relations matters
• Identifying opportunities to raise organisation profiles beyond media coverage such as through speaker opportunities and others.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumers, and industry watchers.
• Maintain a press release database. In addition, they may be responsible for organizing promotional or community-centered programs and events. These might include speaking engagements, conventions or public presentations - for which specialists may need to write the speeches.
• Develop PR strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to improve pubic perception of company.
• Improve management and employee relations.
• Prepare and publish newsletters and other company literature.
• Respond to information queries from media and the general public.
• Identify audience for product or service.
• Write press releases and media kits.
• Manage company sponsorships.
• Maintain effective working relationships with local and municipal government officials and media representatives.
• Formulate policies and procedures related to public information programs.
• Manage an organization's reputation with the public in general .
• Compile comprehensive information about the company for the media.

Skills & Expertise:

• Exceptional writing, editing skills and research.
• Proven track record drafting and executing successful press releases
• Be self-motivated and be able to multi task and manage their work load. You are enthusiastic, willing and able, with bags of initiative
• Have an assertive and positive personality and be able to deal with high volumes of work with positivity and professionalism. Good time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills and a level of attention to detail
• An ability to deal sensitively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and build networks internally and externally.
• At least 3 years of experience specialising in a senior PR role within an organisation
• Degree in MASS COMMUNICATIONS or Journalism
• Experience in e-commerce would be an added advantage
