This role is for an analyst to join QuantSpark’s Open Source Intelligence team. QuantSpark combines the best of strategy consultancy, data science, tool development, and industry expertise.

Role
We are looking for an Analyst to work in our Open Source Intelligence collection team. The role will involve collecting and collating intelligence online and drafting analytical reports. You will be responsible for managing investigations via open source information for a variety of our clients including IGOs, the public and private sector.
Key responsibilities include:
• Ability to find open source information from a range of mainstream and niche social media sites;
• Drafting original analysis for customers in the public and private sector;
• Engaging with the business development team to refine the offering to clients;
• Working with data scientists and developers to help them automate basic collection and collation activities;
• Writing articles on the applications of open source data to solve real world problems.
The Person
Our ideal candidate will have be confident to draft reports detailing complex findings. You will have previous experience of online data collection and subsequent content analysis. You should also be able to demonstrate a good (non-technical) understanding of how the internet works and where/how to collect user generated content.
The following skills would be advantageous but are not essential:
• Familiarity with Linux, TweetDeck, Tableau/Microsoft PowerBI;
• Basic coding awareness (R, python, SQL etc);
• French, Russian, Arabic or Chinese language,
• Relevant work experience (eg in academia, government/military, risk consultancy, etc).
Education: The applicant should have either a relevant degree level qualification or equivalent work experience.
Career progression: The candidate has the potential to be managing a team of 2 to 3 with-in twelve months.
