We are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial growth lead who wants to get in on the ground floor of a high-growth startup within the Surge portfolio. There are already 52 startups (and growing) within the portfolio across the India and Southeast Asia region, and a number of them are looking for heads of marketing. These startups are all early-stage, having raised either seed or Series A rounds of funding.
The ideal candidate combines analytical rigour with a panache for finding innovative solutions to difficult problems through test and learn. They have a demonstrated track record of driving commercial growth and/or efficiencies through distribution-first product design, identification of growth levers and other growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with head of marketing and founders on devising a growth framework and plan that aligns with the business model and growth objectives of the company.
- Build a multi-disciplinary team that includes growth PMs, performance marketers, analytics and data analysts.
- Build plans that drive acquisition, engagement and retention goals - built into the fabric of the startup's product. Implement product and marketing analytics, tracking and dashboards in order to make data accessible, meaningful and actionable.
- Build distribution mechanisms to reach large, relevant audiences for digital products in a systematic fashion.
- Conduct end-to-end growth and data audits to identify highest impact strategies to increase user conversion and retention.
Skills & Traits we are looking for
- Proven relevant experience in a growth, product, strategy or quant planning role within a startup, technology firm, consulting firm or FMCG.
- Experience working at a high-growth startup or lean-driven environment a major plus.
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment where goals, priorities and roadmaps are constantly changing and being disrupted.
- Exceptional communicator who can produce and present data and initiatives in a concise, compelling format for founder and management alignment.
- Demonstrated track record of optimising a business's demand or supply through planning and analysis.
