Join our dedicated team and help build publicity and awareness of our brand by creating content and generating news stories as Communication Manager. As a startup, we are looking for an individual who is a skilled generalist and comfortable “wearing a lot of hats.” This person thrives on creating compelling business stories, pitching to news outlets, and building relationships with media. This position will also create marketing content and distribute across multiple digital platforms (website, email, social media, etc.) to investors, clients, users, and sales leads.

What you'll do day to day: (general and not limited too)

• Develop a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media to increase company visibility
• Build connections and manage relationships with media and key journalists through a mix of channels, from traditional to digital and social
• Oversee the public relations program: identify compelling content, write and distribute press releases, pitch stories, schedule interviews, etc.
• Understand the media landscape: forecast news cycles, identify areas of trending public interest, anticipate issues and manage crises that threaten the company/brand.
• Develop and maintain communication toolkits: editorial style guide, media kits, key messaging, staff bios, etc.
• Partner with marketing on writing and publishing content for the website, blog, whitepapers, case studies, email newsletters and social media.
• Assist with executive communications, including pitch decks, investor updates, and employee communications.

• Passion for writing, editing and spearheading communications
• Can expertly navigate digital publishing tools and communication management software for websites (WordPress), social media, email automation systems, Sales/CRM, Google Suite, etc.
• A degree or work experience in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or other relevant fields.
• Established media relationships and networking connections, especially in B2B Healthcare and Tech
