The opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional software engineer, technologist and human with good programming principles. You will work closely with our founder and CEO to create, refine and scale Pluto’s frontend, backend, database, API, privacy and security layers to enhance the digital infrastructure for how companies of the future are run and managed.

Given our stage, we are looking for a committed and considerate thought partner who thinks strategically about the future of Pluto and pushes the boundaries of what platforms like ours can do, but who can also formulate and execute on the day-to-day details efficiently and pragmatically. As a generalist, you should be able to research any problem or area you aren't familiar with, get up to speed quickly and build it.

What you’ll be doing

• Help build and improve key features and infrastructure to drive Pluto's growth and impact
• Utilize TypeScript/JavaScript across React/Angular, REST/GraphQL, NodeJS, MongoDB and AWS to build and scale high-quality, secure and privacy-respecting data collection, communication and incident reporting tools for companies and their employees
• Manage, support and develop a platform to enable rapid iteration and experimentation, leveraging technology to solve multi-faceted data, statistical/analytical, privacy and UX challenges at scale
• Create and maintain documentation in and for the code as well as critical technical decisions; collaborate in code reviews
• Implement responsive reporting and analytics tools to improve business intelligence

Who you are
An experienced, cooperative software engineer who

• Has 3+ years of professional coding experience or equivalent
• Has a deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Angular and NodeJS, as well as of best practices in reusable component structure, REST/GraphQL, data manipulation, maintainable code, etc. (MongoDB experience is a plus, as is AWS infrastructure experience)
• Has a solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns
• Has a working understanding of data/statistical analysis (predictive analytics, ML and Python/C++ experience are +s)

• Has API development and integration expertise, especially integration experience with HRIS and/or other HR platforms
• Has experience building data analytics, (JavaScript) charts and reports, in particular experience with creating auto-generated PDF or slide presentations based on those reports
• Has experience with enterprise-grade defensive programming, data integrations, security and privacy
