Role and responsibilities

As a data engineer, your main responsibility is to develop and maintain data pipelines. You are expected to collaborate with other team members in order to achieve the company’s goals. Apart from data pipeline development, your responsibilities include:
Developing new connectors to SaaS/HR tools, Improving data operations with new solutions, Documenting infrastructure and data pipelines, Helping clients onboarding, QA new product features, etc… Depending on your seniority level, we also expect you to mentor less experienced team members.

Since Panalyt is a startup, roles and responsibilities are loosely defined and as such, you are encouraged to take on any tasks that you deem necessary to the success of the team/company even if they don’t fall directly under the typical responsibilities of a data engineer.

Mission

• Develop and maintain data pipelines
• Develop internal tools for better monitoring of all data activities.
• Identify, design and implement internal process improvements :
• automating manual processes, optimizing delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc..
• Improve Data quality and data reliability systems in place.
• Work closely with the data scientists and the business-side stakeholders to improve their operations.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2 year or more experience in data engineering
• Japanese (Native, fluent)
• English (Business proficient)
• Experience with Python, SQL, Java, Javascript.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A knack for independent and group work.
• Scrupulous approach to duties.
• Capacity to successfully manage a pipeline of duties with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with Public Cloud services (AWS / Azure / GCP )
• Experience with containers ( Docker / Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of Apache Airflow
