What skills are we looking for?

As a developer in the Hotjar product team, you will be working on developing and improving features built primarily in JavaScript, AngularJS, Python and PostgreSQL. You will be creating production grade HTML, CSS and JavaScriptcode and will have the opportunity to implement solutions designed to handle incredibly high volumes of data. You will need to be highly process driven and eager to learn new technologies and programming languages. You will also be communicating directly with our users on a regular basis to investigate issues and truly understand how your work is being used.

Main requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Highly proficient in translating visual designs into highly readable, production-ready code with an attention to detail and design/UX sensibility.
• Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript technologies, whom people can look up to for help or guidance.
• Experienced in implementing and using CSS preprocessors.
• Strong knowledge of modern browser technologies, cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with JavaScript/integration tests using automated testing frameworks such as Karma and Jasmine.
• Familiarity with distributed revision control systems such as Mercurial and Git.
• Ability to work independently - accountable for your own actions and able to act with both urgency and integrity.

Nice to have

• Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required - AngularJS, React, Vue, Python (or any similar back-end language), PostgreSQL, Redis, Nginx, UX Design, UI Design, Graphic Design and Sketch.
