Back End Engineer - Pawjourr｜Meet.jobs

Pawjourr is a venture-backed startup that operates as an online marketplace that connects brands & advertisers with content creators, specifically pets. We are building an Upwork / fiver-like ecosystem for pet owners globally.

We are looking for driven developers to join our core tech team. You will be working directly with the CTO on building the marketplace and scaling it up to multiple markets.

Pawjourr is currently based in Singapore but will re-locate to the USA in 2022.

What will I be doing?

1. Leading parts of the product from inception to launch, and own large parts of the product’s execution.
2. Working with our product management and frontend team to build products with the goal of delighting and increasing the success of our users.
3. Deploy microservices to support the application UI.
4. Architecting, building, testing, and releasing product-facing features.
5. Implement strong security & data protection measures to our infrastructure.
6. Manage & maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, SNS, Cloudfront).

 

What do I need?

1. 4+ years of industry experience in a software engineering role, preferably building a SaaS product. You can demonstrate the significant impact that your work has had on the product and/or the team.
2. Deep knowledge of Javascript.
3. Able to execute complex algorithms & data structures.
4. Experience with scalable distributed systems, both built from scratch as well as on AWS primitives
5. Experience designing & building GraphqQL endpoints.
6. Deep knowledge in SQL & NoSQL databases.
7. Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
8. Extremely data-driven.
9. Ability to debug complex systems.

 

Brownie points

1. Relevant experience building large-scale data systems.
2. Experience in optimizing AWS instances for better performance.
3. Experience setting up large-scale infrastructure from start.
