Senior DevOps Engineer - Remote - EVRYTHNG｜Meet.jobs

As a Senior DevOps Engineer @EVRYTHNG you will have the chance to work on a plethora of challenges related to infrastructure and operations and help our existing teams to construct and deliver more and better products.

The role will include working collaboratively with our Engineering and Product teams helping to improve and implement infra and operation tools & blueprints that empower them to deliver business value better/faster/stronger.

EVRYTHNG in a nutshell:

• Our all time peak was 1.4 Mio messages / min (Twitter is at 350,000!)
• Aiming at full “terraformization” of our platform.
• Spanning across multiple providers, continents and regions (AWS and GCP for now with plans to expand to Azure).
• 50 micro (and not so micro) services in Node.js and Java mixed with some Python scripting.
• Diverse and remote team spread across Europe and the US.

Position Responsibilities:

• Help the design and implementation of Infrastructure and Operations projects.
• Strive for a self-serving model by building the tools, best practices and documenting them for others to use.
• Automate the provisioning and management of our Cloud based Platform (AWS/GCP) via our IaC pipeline.
• Automate and optimise our software development and delivery processes via CI/CD pipelines, using CircleCI.
• Help design and Implement better and efficient continuous integration strategies.
• Take responsibility and pride in maintaining our SLAs and ‘multiple 9s’ uptime.
• Participate in internal IT support and contribute to continuously improve our internal IT tooling.
• Get ready to contribute to the 24/7 support of our infrastructure and services.

About you:

• Strong knowledge and experience with AWS (experience with other cloud providers is a plus).
• Strong knowledge and experience with Terraform / IaC Tools.
• Experience with Container Technology (Docker) ideally AWS ECS (Nomad or Kubernetes are a plus).
• Experience with CI / CD Pipelines, such as CircleCI/Drone/Atlantis.
• In depth understanding and experience of Relational and Non-Relational Database technologies (in particular MongoDB and PostgreSQL).
• Good understanding and experience of Data Streaming technologies (in particular AWS Kinesis).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Shell.
• Experience in the challenges of building / supporting large and complex software Web projects / environments.

• Understanding of programming languages such as Node.js, Java or other.
• In depth understanding of compliance and security policies (Vault and Terraform-compliance and ISO27001 are a plus).

Core hours are 10-4 (GMT) to align with global teams. The role is FULLY remote
