The Digital Production Platform (DPP) carrier architecture is the heart of the Volkswagen Industrial Cloud, which will be built in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Volkswagen Group is bringing its two major domains into the cloud – first the networked vehicle and digital services and now its production and logistics. The new Volkswagen Industrial Cloud is intended to raise the global production network of the Volkswagen Group with its 122 production plants to a new level of productivity.

• You will participate in the design of central components, the development and operation of the VW digital production platform. 

• The services range from machine connectivity in the shop floor to innovative solutions in the public cloud to enable interaction with data and decision making via machine learning.

• In close cooperation with VW's strategic partners, such as Amazon Web Services and Siemens, you will work in joint product teams to drive the full implementation of customer-oriented shop floor solutions.

• Deliver customer-oriented solutions for challenging technical production problems.

• Design and develop of distributed systems.

• Collaboratr on new, innovative services in the field of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

• Test, integrate and evaluate new technologies in prototypes and architectures.

• Contribute ideas and opinions as part of a technical community in the midst of interdisciplinary teams.

• Benefit from the the Pair Programming working in the Balanced Teams and lern from each other on the job. 

• The software products are currently mostly developed for the internal logistics domain (Geolocation, Tracking, Planing, Organisation), but also for purchase planing and monitoring or vehicle production monitoring and prediction. 

What we don´t do:

• Software to be used inside of the vehicles or by a Volkswagen car owner.

• Self driving, electric vehicles, apps for controlling vehicles, etc.

 

 

• Degree in (business) information technology, automation engineering or a comparable qualification.

• Knowledge of software development and current software architecture trends and technologies (e.g. microservices, serverless, 12-fator apps, continuous delivery).

• Experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Golang).

• Knowledge in Cloud Architecture is a plus (Amazon Web Services, Cloud Foundry, Container/Docker).

• Practical experience in the areas of Test Driven Development (TDD) & Unit Testig.

• The desire to work together with the team in the office (remote work is still possible with team consent).
