About This Role
- This is a senior leadership role to be in-charge of our two community initiatives - hacksummit.org and hackjobs.org

- The role involves managing a small team for each project, and growing each project to thrive
- The role is multi-disciplinary and involves product management, operations, PR, marketing, and more.
- The ideal candidate would be capable of being an "internal entrepreneur" within our organization who wants to take-charge of these projects and (through leadership of a small team) cause growth and success.
- The ideal candidate would be capable of being an individual contributor but would delegate to others to cause a larger degree of success through effective leadership.
- For hacksummit.org, the role entails planning each event, selecting speakers, performing operations to onboard each speaker, performing business development to promote the event via partnerships, performing PR around each event, and managing the operations of the live events.
- For hackjobs.org, the role entails improving the hackjobs.org product experience, working with portfolio companies to gain value from hackjobs.org, and gaining traction for hackjobs.org via promotion and other go-to-market activities.
Job Requirements
- Successful experience recruiting and leading small teams
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Aptitude to take charge of projects and make reasonable decisions with imperfect information
- Relevant experience with some (but not all) of the following areas: product management, community management, running conference operations, running hackathons, business development, PR, marketing.
- Experience working in a fast-paced chaotic environment, ideally at an early-stage startup as either a founder or early employee
