    About Us:

THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF GIRO'S PERSUASIVE POWERS

The Adult Services team in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. We love it when our work touches lives.

Take Stepping to the Beat, our 3k walk, jog or run for people with learning or physical disabilities or Autism, their families and carers. It's a life-affirming, music-based event Coreen and Claudia are massively proud of - and they were keen for people to spread the word. So, imagine how thrilled they were when one of our residents, Giro, did just that. Advocating for people with disabilities at a planning meeting for transport in London, he was proudly wearing his event medal. And he decided to use it to encourage others. As he passed it around the room, Giro inspired lots more people with disabilities to get involved. Infectious enthusiasm goes a long way here.

    The Role:

As a Performance Manager in our Adult Social Care (ASC) team, you can make your own powerful contribution to our residents' lives, by ensuring that our decision-making processes are underpinned by exceptional insights and analysis - and in the process, we can feel confident that our actions and services are embedded in flawless evidence. As such, you will take on a highly visible role in our Operations and Governance team, guiding a team of four Business Analysts and one Senior Analyst in producing excellent analytical outputs, support and guidance across the department.

This high-performing team enjoy the challenges that they are presented with, and as such they are constantly in-demand across the department. You will therefore build the profile of the team and manage competing priorities, ensuring all data is being converted into useful intelligence, and that the most insightful results are being achieved through a wide variety of research methods. As the expert voice in the team, you will have the capacity to manage multiple programmes of work, and you will be keen to utilise the latest software and technology in order to help the wider department embrace a data-led culture. We celebrate a deeply ambitious working environment in which we are constantly challenging ourselves to remain at the cutting edge of the sector. You will therefore find plenty of opportunity to drive performance improvement and influence the key strategic priorities of the service. From monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators through to identifying performance challenges and coming up with innovative solutions, you will be central to our ambitions to provide the best Adult Social Care service in the country.

    About You:

We are currently going through a variety of challenges and changes within the Adult Social Care team, so there has never been a better time to join us and make your mark on what we are currently achieving. There is plenty of scope for you to shape this role as you see fit, and you will be encouraged to get involved in complex, high profile projects.

Crucially, you will have exceptional organisation, communication and presentation skills, and you will be an inspirational people manager who is committed to developing the skills of your team. With exceptional analytical skills and a background in delivering performance frameworks, evaluations, complex analytical models and products, you will have experience of managing performance teams. With the ability to interpret complex information for non-technical audiences, you will be capable of advising at the highest levels, and you will be comfortable working in a political environment. From a technical viewpoint, you will have a good knowledge of performance systems including PowerBI, GIS, and Statistical Packages like (SPSS) R.

The Council and its partners are committed to achieving diverse shortlists for all vacancies at Band 4 or above to support our desire to increase the number of staff from underrepresented groups in our workforce. As part of this ambition, if you are from a Black, Asian and Multiple Ethnic backgrounds (B.A.M.E.) you can self-declare this to the hiring manager as part of our positive action commitments.
