We're looking for an IT Technician to support the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team efficiently and accurately, with support and maintenance of a number of applications and reports that are utilised within the National Buying, National Supply Chain Management and other Services Departments, ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines and regulations.
In addition, there will be some consulting responsibilities that include assisting the National Buying, Supply Chain Management and other Services Departments with program testing of new versions of existing programs and new functionality being introduced within our suite of SCM applications, including our Buying Core System, PTP (Produce Tendering Platform) and LTD (Logistic Tender Database) as well as new Assortment Services, like Supplier Life Cycle (SAP Ariba, ERP S/4 Hana), Product Life Cycle (SAP CMI/MDG).
The core area of responsibility will be second line technical support for the applications within our area. You will be the Incident Coordinator and provide support for various administration tasks/activities.

Your New Role
- Second level support to the National Buying, National Supply Chain Management and other Services Teams in both GB and IE Regions.
- Incident and Request Coordination for applications within the area of responsibility
- Escalation of issues to internal support functions and direct leader, or to the International IT department when necessary
- Maintaining an appropriate incident log
- Maintaining an understanding of the user requirements and open issues for areas of responsibility
- Testing hardware (if applicable) and program updates to verify whether newly implemented requirements and existing functionality operate without errors
- Creating plans for installations and maintenance programmes in conjunction with International IT, national stakeholders and external suppliers as needed
- Co-ordinate and direct consultants, contractors, vendors and suppliers as required
- Supporting with administration tasks such as maintaining invoice and budget trackers
- Maintain an efficient and well organised filing system
- Ensure that all documentation is archived properly and arrange its disposal at the end of the appropriate archive period
- Ensure compliance with ALDI policies
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with any external regulation requirements, specifically around GDPR and data security.
About You
- GCSE's in Maths and English (Grade C and above)
- Technical support experience
- Excellent customer service skills, able to interact confidently with technical and non-technical people
- Ability to understand and become competent with bespoke applications
- Take responsibility for business critical issues
- Be able to effectively prioritise and execute tasks whilst under pressure
- Be inquisitive and driven to perform to the best of their abilities
- Experience working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment
- Knowledge/experience of working to SLAs
- Knowledge/experience of working with third party suppliers
- Knowledge/experience of working with MS SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
