YOUR ROLE
- Active contribution to the Modeling and Engineering Team: within one of our global R&D platforms, a modeling and engineering team is responsible for the development and application of modeling methods for polymers, including various types of adhesives but also e.g. fiber reinforced plastics, barrier or potting materials. We develop, implement, validate and apply modeling strategies to numerically predict material behavior, processes and application performance. From these insights we draw conclusions for further material development and optimal applications and solutions.
- Development, application and deployment of modeling methods in the area of polymers (physics and data-based)
- Analyze complex applications and processes and develop, implement, validate and deploy modelling and data analyses strategies to understand and optimize material behavior, process results and application performance
- Combine different modeling methods on system-level, e.g. using reduced order models and IoT data, to create digital twins of materials and processes
- Work globally with customers and all parts of the Henkel organization
YOUR SKILLS
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering / Material Science Engineering / Physics / Civil Engineering/Numerics/information technology/mathematics or equivalent field
- Experience in the behavior, characterization and modeling of polymeric materials (e.g. CFD/FEA), in particular adhesives, regarding e.g. rheology or mechanics
- Proficient in data analytics and predictive data modeling (e.g. statistics, data analysis, machine learning, optimization)
- Familiar with important scripting or programming tools (e.g. Python, R, Matlab) and concepts and tools used in industrial environments for data analysis and modeling
- Basic knowledge of (cloud-based) infrastructure to support data modeling (e.g. Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines)
- Fluent English language skills
