Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone’s reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It’s a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve.
Since launching in 2019, Kaluza’s technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers.
From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform energy retailer operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.
Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?
You’ll be joining the Kaluza Platform Design community. We’re made up of squad embedded Product Designers and cross-functional practices in Brand, Content Design, Design Ops, Research and Service Design.
We’re dedicated to forming partnerships with Product and Engineering to solve complex problems. For us that means everything we do, we apply platform thinking — going beyond user centred design — looking at the big picture of ecosystems, designing for interconnectedness and simplifying services.
What will I be doing?
You’ll be responsible for the end to end digital experiences our clients, energy retailers, provide to their customers. This means looking after key journeys, from submitting a meter read, renewing a contract, moving home and everything in between. You’ll ship high fidelity designs of new components and their variants and quickly prototype solutions to visual and interaction problems to test and discuss with your team.
Your first focus will be the component library. You’ll look to understand its scope, users, value and vision with the intention of improving it and expanding it. You’ll work through the introduction of new components and patterns end to end: from the initial research to visual design and documentation.
You’ll do this by:
Collaborating deeply with your product manager and team of engineers
Clearly articulating your ideas and decisions to internal and external stakeholders
Building on top of our design system and adhering to accessibility standards
Being a hungry self starter who can test solutions with users, using wireframes, mockups and prototypes
Crafting detailed and polished user interfaces, that solve concrete problems
