WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

A Video Streaming Engineer, an experienced technical specialist who has the proven ability of working within a team of developers, solution architects, product strategists and data scientists, to understand the project needs and requirements of platforms with video streaming.

You will be closely collaborating with our frontend, backend and devops engineers in order to bring video streaming capabilities to the next level.

WHAT WILL YOU ACHIEVE IN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS?

• You will develop techniques to improve transcoding and streaming reliability to deliver best viewer quality on platforms mobile & web platforms
• With your deep knowledge in video streaming technologies, you will support the development team in improving and stabilising our Server-Side video transcoding pipeline
• Configure and optimise video delivery aspects at the content delivery network layer
• Maintain and improve video quality and accessibility aspects, such as latency in poor network conditions
• Work closely together with our internal team to identify potential roadblocks and strive to improve the experience of the viewers
• Work together with our team on research projects and tackle the challenging aspects of tomorrows online-video solutions.

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST HAVE:

• Strong experience in video transcoding platforms and frameworks (i.e. AWS Elemental, Ffmpeg)  
• In depth knowledge of Video standards i.e. Video Encoding/Transcoding   H.264 / HEVC / AV1 / CBR / VBR / ABR
• Experience in configuring and optimising video delivery at the network level.
• Knowledge of video delivery systems(i.e. MSS, WebRTC, HLS, DASH, SRT, RTMP, Zixi)
• Working knowledge of Git
• knowledge of the software development life cycle, including testing, deployment and monitoring solutions

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

• Experience with video delivery networks such as Akamai
• Software development skills in programming languages such as .netCore or NodeJ
• Basic knowledge of Routing, Switching, Firewall, DNS.
• E2E integration role in the projects involving CMS, CDN, Middleware, Video Processing Platform.
• Understanding of Storage system.
• Knowledge of DRM
