    About the job

    Position: Software Engineer

    Salary: $150-180k

    Equity: 1.0%

    Start Date: ASAP

ESG Impact is a mission-driven company democratizing access to ESG within private markets. We offer a streamlined platform that automates ESG consulting, reducing the time and cost of ESG reporting. We’re a venture-backed company and growing quickly to meet customer demand.

    Some challenges include:

Scaling our product: As an early-stage company that’s growing quickly, we need to rapidly accommodate new features and additional customers. You’ll help us build the tech infrastructure enabling our next $10MM in ARR.

Product Ownership: We’re a young development team that’s constantly learning and iterating on new features. Our team needs someone that isn’t looking for quick wins: you should be craving responsibility and product ownership.

Growing our Engineering Team: Startups are constantly iterating and shipping new product deployments and ESGi is no exception. As ESGi continues to scale, you’ll help us identify, onboard, and mentor our growing engineering team.

    What You'll Do:

As a software engineer on this team, you’ll own the iterations and best practices on our SaaS application, the infrastructure and architecture of new product features, and help develop a long-term product roadmap with our founding team. As a senior member of the technical team, you will:

Scope and lead complex technical projects, laying the groundwork for early-stage products that need to iteratively evolve and scale.

Align our technical decisions with ESGi’s broad strategic initiatives, ensuring we’re delivering on commitments to our customers and partners.

Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps. Make effective tradeoffs, considering business priorities, user experience, and avoiding technical debt.

Lead by example to uphold high engineering standards, and elevate quality and engineering efficiency in our nascent engineering team.

Understand, isolate, and automate critical ESG reporting workflows as a part of our core product offering.

Mentor engineers earlier in their technical careers to help them grow.

    Experience You'll Need:

We’re looking for a software engineer that’s a self-starter. Attention to detail is crucial as our software is actively being used by publicly traded companies and multi-billion-dollar asset managers.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field (Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics), an equivalent SWE Bootcamp credential, or equivalent experience with open-source, personal, or professional projects.

Demonstrated ability to build React- and Node.js-based products, as evidenced by prior professional experience, open-source contributions, or a personal portfolio.

Familiarity with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React TSX, Node.js) and Test-driven Development (Cypress, Jest).
