Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

Crunchyroll employees are currently working from home, and we are still conducting remote interviews and hiring during this time. This role is expected to start remotely, and we’ll work closely with you as we understand every person has unique circumstances.

About The Team

A team of engineering excellence and delivery expertise, the engineering enablement team exists to encourage and empower software delivery teams to deploy software for customers quickly and confidently. Defining standards, architecting solutions, and mentoring teams, the enablement team works across all engineering teams to provide guidance and assist where necessary.

About You:

 

Experience developing and leading the highest priority initiatives, delivering on customer satisfaction while also maximizing business expectations

Enjoy working with engineering teams on day-to-day delivery blockers, listening to issues faced within teams, and providing unbiased, business focused solutions

Strong development and architectural instincts

You code and build quality and scalable software tackling the hardest problems that can be used by others

Your documentation sets the standard for all engineers in the organization

You lead through influence versus authority, you know how to navigate difficult subjects and resolve contentious issues.

You advocate for the creation of new software only when it is necessary, and you can determine when to build a solution versus when to use off the shelf components

Experience building, deploying, and maintaining cloud native infrastructure

Ability to lead investigations into failing critical business processes while delegating work to individuals and providing appropriate communication with key partners

Unwavering confidence in the face of uncertainty, ability to lead multiple teams to success by examining risks and providing unique solutions

 

Pluses:

 

Cloud Professional Certifications

Javascript, Golang, and Python development experience

Strong experience with AWS and GCP

DevOps experience (Applications, Infrastructures, Databases)

Experience in fast-paced, high-load environments

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

 

A day in the life of a Principal Software Engineer:

 

Work across engineering teams, product managers, and key partners to understand business critical bottlenecks

Instill engineering excellence across organizational domains through education, tooling, and one-on-one guidance

Improve the security of our platform through better tooling, monitoring, and alerting

Work with operations to evaluate new infrastructure choices and identify architectural standard methodologies with a focus on empowering engineers to operate independently

Support and improve internal processes including engineering, product, and communications

Work closely with Legal, Marketing, and others from the Senior Management Team to understand critical business problems and provide innovative solutions

You actively participate in the coaching, mentoring of engineers you interact with and are a core part of the hiring and recruiting process.

You write critical code and make the right trade-offs. You solve sophisticated problems with solutions that are as simple as possible.

Dive deeply into highly ambiguous and significantly sophisticated problem spaces to understand core requirements and provide innovative solutions
