Sequencing.com is looking for an innovative Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. This position will be part of the Engineering team that is responsible for the daily, hands-on development and improvement of Sequencing.com's large scale technical suite.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished Senior DevOps Engineer that is a self-sufficient operator comfortable with handling multiple projects and priorities in a very fast-paced start-up environment.

Responsibilities

 

Manage and improve DevOps for the company's technical suite.

Work with the development teams on the CI/CD process related to Kubernetes deployments.

Configure, optimize and debug Kubernetes clusters and complex applications hosted on k8s.

Architect, develop and implement innovative software solutions related to the DevOps and Agile transformation.

Develop automations strategies.

Implement infrastructure as code (IaC).

Expose strengths and weaknesses in the CI/CD Processes and automate paths forward to mitigate those weaknesses.

Support a 24x7 live site support model for the services the company owns.

Linux (Ubuntu) systems general administration.

Windows systems general administration.

Networking management and configuration. Networks setup, routing, firewalls, VPNs. LDAP catalogs management/configuration.

Linux systems software deployments/dependencies resolving.

Write clear documentation for procedures, summaries, reports, etc.

Communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

 

5+ years as a Software, DevOps or Infrastructure Engineer with at least 2 years in a senior level position.

5+ years experience writing performant code in a high level programming language

5+ years experience testing, deploying and operating web services on cloud based infrastructure on a large scale

Extensive experience with AWS and its cloud infrastructure.

Expert level knowledge of Kubernetes cluster setup and administration.

Expert level knowledge of implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) including Terraform.

Experience working with container technologies in production environment.

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure with Bitbucket and Argo CD.

Comfortable writing and understand YAML.

Knowledge of SQL databases and basic coding skills in Java, Python, Go, C++ or a similar language.

Experience with microservices architectures.

Ability to manage multiple project phases at the same time.

Deep knowledge of Linux networking tools chain (including VPN: Strongswan).

Knowledge of DevOps management/automation tools (Rundeck).

Good knowledge of linux shell scripting languages: Linux BASH, Python, etc.

Solid understanding of Linux system internals/packages management.

Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging technical environment, with the aim of producing meaningful results for the business.

Always learning about and testing new technologies, techniques, and tools.
