    The Role

    Hover is a software platform offering measurement, visualization, estimation, and ordering solutions to the construction and insurance markets.     Why Hover wants you

    We are looking for a leader to bring the Hover brand dynamically to life by overseeing external communications. You will own awareness, coverage and engagement goals across all earned and owned channels by primarily leading the development and execution of public relations and social media strategies and campaigns. Reporting into the Chief Marketing Officer and sitting on the Marketing Leadership Team, the Director, Communications will be the primary spokesperson for the company and lead a small, growing team of internal resources, agencies and freelancers to generate meaningful outreach and engagement across all our customers - Homeowners, Construction Pros, Insurance Carriers and Suppliers.

    You will contribute by

    • Being a collaborative and proactive team member on the Marketing Leadership Team who enhances our team’s strategy, planning, creative and operating processes.
    • Creating the corporate and vertical-specific messaging platforms utilized across channels, that positions Hover as a thought leader transforming home improvement.
    • Cultivating relationships and managing day to day contact with key media outlets, social media influencers, journalists, and trade associations.
    • Generating positive media coverage through ‘rolling thunder’ calendar and distribution of multimedia pitches to the press about new product launches and original content (eg, reports, surveys).
    • Working closely with paid social advertising to coordinate efforts.
    • Gaining speaking sessions for internal spokespeople, onsite coverage and social media engagement at key industry events.
    • Creating a pipeline of compelling, sharable content and newsworthy updates tailored to social media channels (FB, IG, TikTok, Pinterest) that drives engagement.
    • Monitoring channels for trends, conversations and engage with followers.
    • Regularly analyzing results and creating data-informed snapshots that communicate performance to executives & employees.
    • Facilitate submissions, assisting with talent branding and corporate brand communications, as needed.
    • Acting as a champion for communications who builds strong partnerships, operating models, and a ‘GSD’ discipline with your Product, Sales, Business Development, and RevOps partners.

    Your background includes

    • 10+ years’ communications, social media, public relations, or corporate marketing with 3+ years each in an agency and a high growth start-up.
    • Has led communications functions at B2C and B2B transactional, SaaS, and/or two-sided marketplaces companies of $100M+ in revenues.
    • Strong leadership presence. Phenomenal written and verbal communicator who can tell concise, persuasive stories to all levels and empower their teams to do the same.
    • Demonstrated experiences with various content creation strategies and production, such as video, blogging, social media, pitch decks, and more.
    • Deep knowledge of social media channels (eg, FB, Google) and analytics tools, HubSpot, and other key MarTech stack components.
    • Ability to develop strong, constructive relationships with external stakeholders and manage third party vendors, agencies, and freelancers.
    • Ability to recruit, build, and mentor high-performance teams.
    • Ability to communicate in English fluently. Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
    • You stay ahead of the curve, voraciously consume communications / social media blogs, and bring these passions to your work.
    • A strong design aesthetic and sense for taste-making.
    • Data-driven decision making and analytical skills.
    • Self-motivated go-getter who operates independently, works effectively on multiple projects, gets it done, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
    • Preferred: Experience with preparing for an IPO, investor and analyst relations, corporate branding and talent branding programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Up to ~25% travel, depending on home location

    Hover has Hubs in San Francisco and New York City, where we encourage employees to be in the office 1-2 times per week to build rapport and foster organic connection. At this time, Hover is not considering fully remote roles.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is *$203,000 - $239,000*. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
