    About the Role

    As a General Ledger Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial planning, regulatory compliance, and adherence to best practices in general ledger accounting. Collaborating closely with the accounting team and various departments, you will be responsible for conducting audits, reconciling accounts, and contributing to our financial stability and success.

    • Prepare and record general ledger entries accurately to reflect transactions related to debt and interest transactions.
    • Prepare comprehensive account reconciliations and schedules for debt and interest accounts.
    • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation to allocate expenses across departments and entities.
    • Own the monthly entries and reconciliations for all lease accounts and transactions (ASC 842), including right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, tenant improvement allowances, rent expense, and variable lease payments.
    • Assist with preparation of internally developed software schedules and journal entries
    • Conduct flux analysis for assigned accounts to identify trends and anomalies.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the accuracy and completeness of operating expense data.
    • Assist in responding to external audit requests and prepare PBC (Provided by Client) items for year-end audits.
    • Participate in ad-hoc accounting and finance projects to support company initiatives.

    A Bit About You

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in accounting with In-depth knowledge of general ledger accounting best practices.
    • Minimum of two (2) public accounting experience
    • Proficiency in using accounting software, with a preference for experience with SageIntacct or other ERP systems like Netsuite or SAP ERP.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent analytical field
    • Advanced proficiency in using GSuite and MS Office Applications.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify financial discrepancies and propose solutions.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks thoroughly.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proven track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams.
    • CPA Certification:Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred. This qualification demonstrates an advanced understanding of accounting principles and signifies a commitment to professional excellence, enhancing the candidate's ability to contribute to accurate financial planning and compliance.
    • Experience with Advanced ERP Systems: Prior experience working with advanced ERP systems, such as Oracle or SAP ERP, is a strong plus. Familiarity with these systems showcases a candidate's ability to navigate complex financial platforms, ensuring a seamless integration into the company's accounting processes.
    • Audit Experience: Previous experience in conducting and managing external audits is desirable. Candidates with a background in responding to external audit requests and preparing Provided by Client (PBC) items will bring valuable expertise to the role, facilitating a smoother audit process.
    • Industry-Specific Knowledge: A candidate with industry-specific knowledge, particularly in fields related to healthcare or patient loan accounting, would be advantageous. This specialized knowledge enhances the candidate's ability to navigate unique challenges in reconciling patient loan accounts and contributes to the accuracy and compliance of financial records.

    • Physical Activities:

      • Occasionally ascending or descending stairs, ramps and the like.
      • Moving about to accomplish tasks and/or moving from one worksite to another.
      • Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
      • Operating motor vehicles.
      • Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

    Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000

    Commission Eligible: No

    Equity Eligible: Yes

    Travel: Yes. Up to 15% of the time.

    Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Washington (WA), Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin.
