The role of a DevOps Engineer is to analyze, design, implement and validate strategies for tooling to support continuous deployment to cloud-based infrastructure while ensuring high availability on both production and pre-production systems.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to automate and expand our AWS and internal operations. The ideal candidate has a solid track record with AWS services and exposure to security and serverless best practices. You will use tools to manage and automate our deployments pipeline while ensuring the reliability and performance of our infrastructure. Ideally, you care deeply about things working the way they should and are passionate about scaling your efforts through automation.

Responsibilities 

● Develop, test, implement and maintain secure technical solutions

● Develop automation for provisioning, configuring, securing, testing, deploying and maintaining secure, scalable, resilient and sustainable systems and processes

● Manage the infrastructure and security aspects to assure all systems are in line with company policies and standards

● Collaborate closely with development, product owners and managers to understand technical requirements and expectations for delivering solutions that address business and user needs

● Monitor and finetune systems to ensure an optimum level of performance, availability, stability, security, recoverability and cost

● Plan and perform ongoing routine application maintenance tasks

● Manage and administer databases, calculation engines and data feeds from external providers in coordination with our data analytics team

● Troubleshoot and remediate problems and incidents per company problem and incident management process. Proactively implement preventative measures 

● Provide clear and concise documentation pertaining to solutions, standards, guideline, processes and practices

● Provide subject matter expertise and influence decision makers on appropriate use and utilization of assets, services and processes

● Provide technical infrastructure knowhow, coaching and training to other team members when needed

Skills and Experience 

● Experience working with core several AWS Cloud Services such as EC2, S3, IAM, ELB, DynamoDB, ELB, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, Route 56, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Mobile Hub, etc.

● Managing Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) built on RHEL7, Nginx, uWSGI, Phyton and Node.jsExperience working with Nginx, uWSGI

● Managing databases running on MySQL, Redis and DynamoDB

● Experienced user of Jenkins and Bitbucket

● Knowledge working with networking components such as DNS, HTTP, TLS/SSL and certificates

● Automation and Shell Scripting (e.g. Bash, Powershell or similar) 

● Experience with logging technologies such as Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and GoAccess

● Experience working in an agile team environment with strong communication and collaboration skills

● Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) and database management systems

● Work closely with engineers to assist in the reproduction and resolution of defects

Requirements 

● 3+ years’ experience in a DevOps role 

● 2+ years’ experience working with AWS

● Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology

● Understanding of deployment tools such as AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodePipeline, Chef / Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Docker Swarm, / Kubernetes, Vagrant, etc.

● Experience with traffic and log analysis tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Nagios, New Relic, Elastic Search, Logstash and Kibana

● Database management and administration experience

● Experience with microservices and serverless architectures 

● Bonus: Development skills for Python, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or Angular 5 or newer

● Bonus: AWS Certification
