The ABS is seeking people from a range of Statistical disciplines who are interested in non-ongoing (temporary) employment opportunities that are expected to arise in our Canberra, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, & Perth offices. The register is used to allow the ABS to search for suitable candidates when a vacancy arises.

Contracts may vary in length depending on the business requirements of the ABS. Often these positions are required to be filled at short notice. The positions may be Full Time, Part Time or Casual. Casual positions are of an intermittent nature with hours and working days varying as required.

Positions are office based, with the majority expected to be filled at the APS Levels 4-6 (salary range: $59,368 - $84,721). Roles vary and are diverse across all Statistical areas within the Statistical Services Group of the ABS. Potential skills/disciplines required include:

SAS
SuperCROSS
GIS
ESRI or MapInfo
Statistical Analysis (Social, Industry & Economic)
