The British Museum is currently recruiting for a Print Curator: Monument Trust to undertake the project of curating through research and cataloguing the Museum’s outstanding collection of c. 6,000 15th to 20th century illustrated books. The role will also involve assisting with loans and exhibitions, utilising specialist knowledge of the collection.

The post-holder will possess a degree in languages, history of art or history, or equivalent, with demonstrable experience in the field of prints as well as working in a museum graphic collection print cataloguing. Fluent speaking and writing ability in English is essential, as is reading knowledge of Latin and one other foreign language, such as German, Italian or French.

You will be able to maintain accuracy and detail in entering details for the digitalisation of the collection, suggesting improvements where necessary. Working as part of a small team, you will be able to use initiative and work well independently.
